Here are the ground transportation options available at the Havana Jose Marti International Airport (HAV) in Cuba:

Chartered Shuttle bus:

Many travelers arriving in Havana by air already have the transfers pre-arranged by a tour operator and included in their vacation package. If it's your case, then when you exit the terminal you will be greeted by your Tour Operator representative who will show you which shuttle bus to board for the transfer to your hotel.

Taxi:

Taxis are always available from the taxi ranks in front of all the terminal buildings. A taxi ride from the airport to downtown Havana takes approximately 20-30 minutes and costs 20-25 USD one-way. Always agree the fare first, some taxis have meters but they are rarely switched on.

Public Buses:

There's no public bus (viazul or other) service to/from the International Terminal (3). You'll find a VIAZUL bus station in the Vedado district of Havana, approximately 15 km from the airport. Viazul has a kiosk in the Arrivals Hall where you can buy tickets but you then have to get to the bus station by taxi. Local buses are available at Terminal 1 (Domestic Terminal) but payment is required in Cuban National Pesos (CUP), which makes them more difficult for visitors to use. There's a shuttle bus between terminals.

Car Rental:

All car rental agencies are located in the Arrivals area or outside parking.
-Terminal 3 (International): Cubacar, Rex, Havanautos, and Via Transgaviota.
-Terminal 2 (US Charters): Via Transgaviota, Havanautos, Cubacar, and Rex.
-Terminal 5 (Caribbean): Via Transgaviota.

Booking in advance is recommended, especially during the high season when the demand for rental cars often exceeds the supply. Prices vary from approximately 50 to 125 USD per day depending on car category and time of year. Insurance is mandatory and usually costs 15 USD per day.

Parking:

Short and long-term parking ($) is available. Terminal 3 has 750 parking spaces and Terminal 1 & 2 has 500 parking spaces each, all located within 150 meters of their respective terminals.

Travel times by road:
